5k & Sickle Cell Family Day

This year marks the 6th annual celebration of "World Sickle Cell Day". On December 18, 2008, the United Nations adopted a resolution that declared June 19th as "World Sickle Cell Day" and called for the recognition of sickle cell disease as a public health problem and one of the world’s foremost genetic diseases. Celebrate "World Sickle Cell Day" by making a donation, joining our volunteer team, wearing your "Sickle Cell Family Day" t-shirt, and helping to spread the word about our organization! Saturday, July 12, 2014 Beth Eden Baptist Church Health Fair Come visit our table at the Beth Eden Baptist Church Health Fair where we will provide information about sickle cell disease and trait, opportunities for connecting with other persons touched with sickle cell disease and ways that you can volunteer with our organization to make an impact on the sickle cell community.

National Sickle Cell Awareness Month

September is National Sickle Cell Awareness Month! On September 21, 1983, President Ronald Reagan delivered Proclamation 5102, proclaiming the month of September as "National Sickle-Cell Anemia Awareness Month" and inviting "all Americans to join...in reaffirming our [Nation’s] commitment to reduce the burden of illness, disability, and premature death imposed by this disease." 5k & Sickle Cell Family Day

Save the date for our 6th Annual "5k & Sickle Cell Family Day"! We will have a 5k run/walk in the morning followed by our FREE Sickle Cell Family Day picnic in the park with food, live entertainment, inspirational speakers, health information, mentor opportunities, fun, games, music, prizes and activities for all ages designed to connect families touched by sickle cell with each other and increase public awareness of sickle cell disease!
